Does Glowstone cause lag? What most people believe to be “redstone” lag is actually light updates. Whenever light changes, the game has to update all affected blocks. Light from torches, glowstone, etc. doesn’t typically create an issue here because the light is consistent (the blocks don’t need to update light amount).
